Casino Inspired Luxury Items
The casino scene has always gone hand in hand with a sense of luxury. High rollers would dress to the maximum with luxury items wrapped around their bodies. Over time, casinos have also shaped how luxury products are made. Over the years, several items have been released with casino games in mind. These are some of the luxury items inspired by casinos and their games.
Drake’s Casino Watch
Drake’s Jacob & Co. watch had released a unique, $620,000 watch inspired by the roulette wheel. The picture of this high-end, luxury watch was posted on Drake’s IG feed, showing the detailed design that can function as both a watch and a roulette table.
The roulette table stands as the background of the watch, but it also has a ball that can roll around the pockets. It’s named the Astronomia Casino, boasting a four-arm setup. One arm holds the ceramic roulette ball, showing the casino inspiration clearly. Another section features the double-axis tourbillon, adding extra flair to the design.
A third arm is used to point toward the time display with numbers. The fourth arm sits right above a 1-carat, 288-facet diamond that shines at the center.
The design is highly intricate, but it’s on brand with the quality of Jacob & Co’s work. The wristwatch retailer had released many complex timepieces, but the Astronomia Casino is truly a statement of what High Rollers can spend out of their pockets to show off their love for casino games.
Girard-Perregaux Jackpot Tourbillon
Here’s another luxury timepiece, but it’s unfortunately no longer produced, bumping the price even higher. Back in 2007, the Vintage 1945 Jackpot Tourbillon wristwatch in rose gold was first released as a limited, numbered edition. What makes it a luxury casino-inspired item is its rose-gold mini slot machine that sits at the top part of the display.
Today, it’s tough to set a fixed price for the watch since it’s rare and usually only appears at auctions. One site stated a starting bidding price of around $99,000 for the Vintage 1945 Jackpot Tourbillon, so it can originally be sold for over $600,000.
There are many reasons why this timepiece is a luxury watch. The body of the watch is built with 18k rose gold and has a sapphire crystal on the back. The slot machine inside the watch also works using the right handle. The baroque design has also been registered by Girard-Perregaux since 1884, which also comes with a chiming slot machine.
There are other versions of the Jackpot Tourbillon, such as the white gold version released in 2009. However, the white gold is an even rarer piece that not many can buy. If there’s a casino player with the Jackpot Tourbillon timepiece, you can expect them to own other casino-themed luxury items, as this item is known as an attractive collectable for high rollers.
Christophe Claret 21 Blackjack
Christophe Claret’s 21 Blackjack was a big launch that hyped up many casino players for being the first watch that allows the wearer to play blackjack on it. However, blackjack isn’t the only game that you can play on the 21 Blackjack wristwatch; it also comes with a dice and roulette game.
The design lets you know that the watch wasn’t about elegance or timelessness; it was meant for those who want to grab the room’s attention. The display wanted the design to scream ’blackjack table’, so there’s a “Dealer must draw on 16 and stand on all 17“ lettering written in the middle of the face.
You can then use the handle to randomize the blackjack card ’spins’ to play anytime. They are solid gold discs, which is one of the reasons why this timepiece was priced at around $198,000. The design is detailed; you can even hear a ’whirring’ noise when the card is dealt. It’s fun, it’s luxurious, it’s an item fitting for high-rollers who want to have a commanding presence throughout the whole casino floor.
Bvlgari Casino Paperweight
If you’ve read so far and questioned: are there no other items besides wristwatches? Let us introduce you to a paperweight released by Bvlgari. There are two variations of this paperweight: one in sterling silver-gilt and the other in bronze.
Like its name, it’s an oversized paperweight that’s designed like a casino chip. At the center, you can see tiny dice engraved, while the outer ring is crafted to look like a roulette wheel. If you want to own a piece of this paperweight, each costs around $3,500. It’s truly a luxury item that you can place on your desk as a reminder of a big win that leads to the paperweight.
St. Dupont Casino Lighter
Wristwatches aren’t the only items complemented by the roulette table among luxury casino items. St. Dupont, also often known for their haute lighter creation, had come up with a lighter that came with a clockwork mechanism in a roulette table design. It has a palladium finish, with 26 watchmaker rubies to ensure it works well.
Thus, it works as a watch and a double-flame lighter. There are only 88 pieces of this lighter, so it’s likely you’ll find it hard to buy this item. With €45,375, you can own one of these lighters. There are the silver and the gold versions, both can be a nice addition to bring when you’re going to your favorite casino.
